Anthologie du Blues Volume 7

Album Length Compact Disc
Black Owl Music
The new collection by fifty-nine-year-old blues powerhouse
E is a readily digestible bag of familiar covers starring
marquee guests. Bill Wither's "Ain't No Sunshine," is both
pleasant and utterly superfluous. The reward for all this? E's
soulful, burnished "People Say Times Done Changed," an E
original and a stratospheric harp solo on "Don't It Get
Lonesome" that shows why E and Deford Bailey were
kindred spirits. Without a doubt, E continues to be one of
the most sensual, literate, explosive, and ground breaking
celebrated and influential musicians in our time. His artistry
keeps evolving. His adventurous re-inventions, bold
experimentation, stellar instrumental and composing skills
have placed him high in the pantheon of all-time blues
players.
