Blueswoman Jo Wymer hails from Freehold, NJ.
She performs her FIREY collection of originals and
hand-picked classic blues tunes...All performed
with "JERSEY GIRL" attitude.
Recently, Jo has been making a name for herself
all along the Jersey Coast. She was a semi-finalist
in VH1's New Artist Jam - 2005, and placed as a
semi-finalist in both the Jersey Shore Jazz and
Blues Foundation's "Blues Challenge" (for 2005
and 2006).
Jo and her band were nominated for the Top
Blues Band at the 2006 Asbury Music Awards, and
was a semi-finalist in the John Lennon
Jo Wymer - Blues with Attitude
Songwriter's contest this past year.
Notable 2007 Accomplishments so far, two of Jo's songs have been
selected to be featured in the American Songwriters Magazine. Keep a look
out for April's issue.
Hubert Sumlin is a blues guitar legend. He
has influenced the playing of Jimi Hendrix, d.
boon, Jimmy Page, Stevie Ray Vaughan,
Jack White, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Frank
Zappa, Joe Walsh, Keith Richards, John
Fogerty and George Harrison to name but a
few. Born November 16, 1931 in Greenwood,
Mississippi Hubert was playing guitar by the
time he was eight years old and by doing so
changed the face of the blues, rock, punk
and popular music for all time to come.
Hubert has recorded and played live with
such artists as the Howlin' Wolf, Chuck
Berry, Muddy Waters, Levon Helm, Jimi
Hendrix, Ringo Starr, Paul Oscher, Stevie
Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, David Johansen,
Steve Winwood, James Cotton and Buddy
Guy...again, to name but a few.
It is our pleasure to honor such a great man and musician. Thank you Mr.
Sumlin for the many years of pleasure and inspiration.
Solo on guitar, Sparlha is a velvetine clash of
impeccable vocals and haunting modal chords.
With her band comes a maddeningly satisfying
concoction of solid Latin-tinged bass lines,
intelligent and inventive beats, and a wildly
roving jazz-rooted piano. Hers is a sound that
ascends to Sade-like smoothness but with
rougher rock edges, catchy hooks, and an
international feel. Stunning, tender, contagious
and wise, her songs speak about love, life and
actualizing the true potential of the human spirit.
She is a sure promise of wonder for music
listeners of any genre.
Her recent musical exploits include securing a
Japanese distribution deal for her debut album In
The Distance, licensing 2 songs (Love Addiction

and Too Late) to the nationally syndicated TV show Girlfriends, and having
her music video chosen for airing on BETJs Soul Sessions 3 times a day
since April 21st. She has also been selected twice to perform at the NXNE
Music Festival in Toronto, Canada, and also at the Atlantis Music Festival in
Atlanta, Georgia. In January she opened for Bilal at Londons premier
venue for international music, the Jazz Café, 3 nights in a row. In May her
band was chosen to perform at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM)
Café in collaboration with Sista Factory. She is also part the International
Gibson family of guitars and music.

Billy Sheehan started playing about a
thousand years ago, by his own admission
starting with local Buffalo, NY bands which
evolved into a group called "Talas" in the
early 70's.
Talas played a zillion gigs & opened for
tons of major bands as they came through
Buffalo. Eventually, Talas opened for Van
Halen in 1980 and from that, David Lee
Roth called to start a band after he left
Van Halen.
After "Eat' Em & Smile" album & tour with
Dave, Steve Vai, Greg Bissonette, and
Brett Tuggle, the "Skyscraper" album was
recorded. After that, Billy was on his own
and started Mr. Big. Their first album did
OK, but the second one "Lean Into It"
went platinum and had several hits. Mr. Big continued on successfully
until 2001 when they split up.
As a side project, Billy started "Niacin" (Improvisational/fusion band) with
Dennis Chambers on drums and John Novello on B3---that's still going
strong and they're on their 5th record "Organik" now. Billy's first solo CD
was called "Compression" in 2002---on Steve Vai's "Favored Nations"
record label, followed up by his second solo CD "Cosmic Troubadour"
last year.
The Cosmic Troubadour, Billy Sheehan
'Before the Music Dies' tells the
story of how the music industry
has abandoned both artists and
fans in its single-minded pursuit
of corporate profits. Check out
